A USEFUL AMOUNT, NOT A RULE
How much should you put on a digital gift card?
There is no universal “right” amount. Decide whether your gift is a small gesture, a contribution to something larger or meant to cover most of a planned purchase, then choose a value you are comfortable giving.
THE SHORT ANSWER
Use the recipient’s plan to set the amount
If you only know the brand, treat the card as a contribution. If the recipient has named a specific purchase, check its likely price with them or the merchant before trying to cover it. Your budget is the limit; an occasion does not create a required minimum.
A card that leaves some cost to the recipient can still be useful when the merchant permits another payment method. That redemption rule belongs to the merchant and regional programme, not to the crypto checkout used to buy the card.
ILLUSTRATIVE ROLES
What different face values can mean
The values below are examples, not spending averages or live product-price claims. Nike France and Sephora France currently have catalogue-listed EUR 25, 50, 100, 150 and 200 options; verify the active selector before paying.
A considered gesture
Useful when the card should contribute to a choice without implying it will cover the whole basket.
More room to choose
A middle option when you know the merchant but not the exact item, size or shade.
A substantial contribution
Better suited to a planned purchase when the recipient may add another accepted payment method.
A deliberate larger gift
Choose this only when it fits your budget and you are confident about the recipient’s market and merchant.
COUNTRY CHANGES THE MEANING
The number is not the gift by itself
EUR 50 and USD 50 are separate face values tied to different card programmes. A recipient in France may need France/EUR even if you are paying from the United States. Likewise, large-looking INR or JPY numerals cannot be compared to EUR by digits alone.
Use the product market and face-value currency as the permanent gift facts. The display-currency estimate helps you compare your budget; the exact crypto amount appears later in the 60-minute payment quote.
Choose a card for someone abroadTHREE QUESTIONS
Decide without inventing etiquette
Do I expect the card to cover everything?
If yes, identify the intended item or basket first and leave room for price changes. If no, describe the gift to yourself as a contribution and choose within your budget.
Would choice matter more than size?
For fashion or beauty, the ability to choose a preferred item can make a smaller balance more useful than a more expensive guessed product.
Is the regional version definitely right?
Stop before payment if the recipient’s country, account region or face-value currency is unclear. A larger wrong-market card does not become a better gift.
CHOOSE THE NEXT CARD
Set the role, then select the value
For sportswear in France, open Nike with France selected. For beauty, choose the recipient’s exact Sephora market before the amount. If you know only the interest, browse the category and treat the value as a flexible contribution.
