ONE BALANCE OR SEVERAL CHOICES
One large gift card or several smaller cards?
Choose one larger card when the recipient is committed to one merchant. Split the gift only when the merchant permits combining cards or when you intentionally want to give choices across different brands.
THE DECISION
Combining cards and spreading a gift are different plans
Several cards for the same merchant make sense only if the recipient can use them together or over separate purchases. Several brands create variety, but also several balances, regional checks and redemption steps.
One larger card keeps the gift easier to track. It also concentrates the value in one merchant, so use it when you know where the recipient wants to shop.
NIKE FRANCE
Up to ten cards on one online order
Nike France says an eligible online order may use as many as ten Nike gift cards. If their total is short, another accepted payment method can cover the difference.
Illustrative example: two EUR 25 cards could contribute EUR 50 to one eligible Nike France online order. These figures illustrate the rule; check each card and the current checkout.

Two cards online; more in store
Sephora’s US/Canada programme allows up to two gift cards or eGift Cards on an online order. Using more than two requires an in-store purchase.
Illustrative example: three USD 25 cards cannot all be applied to one online order under that rule, even though their combined face value is USD 75.

Match the shape of the gift to their plan
- 01
They are saving for one Nike purchase
Several Nike cards can work within the France online limit, but one card is simpler to store and redeem. Keep every card in the same applicable market.
- 02
They like beauty but not one retailer
Two smaller cards for different familiar merchants give more choice. The trade-off is that each balance has its own regional and channel rules.
- 03
Several people are contributing
Check the merchant’s combination limit before everyone buys. If the limit is restrictive, coordinate one card or plan separate purchases rather than assuming balances merge.
OUR RECOMMENDATION
Prefer one card unless splitting solves a real recipient need
Use one larger card for a known merchant and one planned purchase. Use several cards when a verified combination rule supports the basket, or when variety itself is the gift. Do not infer Nike’s limit for Sephora, or the US/Canada Sephora rule for France.
