THE RECIPIENT SETS THE MARKET
Choosing the right gift card region
Ask where the recipient actually shops before choosing the card. Their merchant account, intended country and redemption channel matter more than the buyer’s location.
A SHORT CONVERSATION
Ask four practical questions
- Which country version of the merchant do they use?
- Is their merchant account registered in that country?
- Will they redeem online, in an app or at a participating shop?
- Which face-value currency will be useful to them?
You do not need to ask how they use crypto. For an ordinary merchant gift card, the buyer handles the crypto payment and the recipient uses the delivered brand code.
PRODUCT MATCH
Keep country, currency and programme together
Choose the exact card for the recipient’s market and confirm its current listing before checkout. A shared currency does not make national merchant programmes interchangeable, and a familiar brand may use different account or shop rules across countries.

AFTER DELIVERY
Tell them what the code belongs to
Send the unused code privately with the merchant name, issuing country, face-value currency and official redemption instructions. Keep the order reference with the buyer rather than placing payment details in the recipient message.
